What it costs, and who charges what
A call to a 09 number has two parts. The service charge is ours: 45p per minute, the same for every hostess, from any phone. The access charge belongs to your phone company, which sets it and keeps it. Both appear on your phone bill; no card is involved.

The access charge comes on top of these figures and varies by network and tariff. Your provider publishes it on its price list, and its customer service can tell you the figure for your tariff.

Calling from a mobile
The number works from a mobile. Our service charge is the same as from a landline; the access charge usually isn't, as most networks charge more for 09 numbers than landline providers do. Worth a glance at your tariff before a long call.
Some mobile networks bar 09 numbers by default, often as part of their adult-content controls. If your call won't connect, that's the likely reason: contact your network and ask them to lift the bar on premium-rate numbers. They may ask you to confirm you're over 18. It's their setting, not ours, and we can't change it from this end.
What the call is actually like
The first few seconds are routing: you're asked for a code, you key it in, you're connected. After that it's a conversation, at a normal pace, with pauses and the odd laugh.
You needn't prepare anything. Change the subject, go quiet for a moment, come back to something she said. Silences are normal at the start and tend to shorten once you've both found the rhythm.
If something isn't working
- The call won't connect from your mobile. Your network is probably barring 09 numbers. Ask them to lift the bar.
- She doesn't answer. She may be on another call. Choose another hostess or try again later.
- You keyed the wrong code. Hang up, ring again and key in the right one.
- The line is poor. It's almost always the signal. Hang up and redial.

One thing to know before you ring
The names on this site are stage names, and the profile photos and bios are computer-generated. They give each hostess a face and a story; they aren't a portrait of the woman you'll be speaking to. The voice is real. The picture is illustration.
We say so here and in the footer because a service that's vague about what it sells tends to disappoint. It's also a phone call and nothing more: no meet-ups, no swapping numbers.

How do I reach a particular hostess?
Key in her code. Every hostess has her own code, shown on her profile. Ring our 09 number and, once connected, key in her code on your keypad: you're put through to her if she's available. On a mobile, the Call button on her profile dials the number and keys in the code for you, so it's a single tap. On a computer, dial the number from your phone and type the code yourself.
What do 'Online', 'On a call' and 'Back soon' mean?
They tell you whether it's worth ringing now. 'Online' means she's available at this moment. 'On a call' means she's finishing a conversation with someone else, so try again shortly or pick another hostess. 'Back soon' means she's off the line for now but due back later. The label on each profile is refreshed automatically from our telephony partner's system.
What is the access charge?
It's the part of the call price that goes to your own phone company. Since 2015, calls to UK service numbers such as 09 have been split in two: a service charge, set by us and shown next to our number, and an access charge, set by your network and listed on your tariff. Your provider applies one access charge to every service number you ring, whichever company runs it.
Why won't my call connect from a mobile?
Most likely your network bars 09 numbers. Many UK mobile providers block premium-rate calls by default, and adult services sit behind content controls that stay on until you've shown you're over 18. Ring your network's customer services or check your account settings online, ask them to allow 09 numbers, and try again. Some pay-as-you-go and business plans bar them outright, in which case a landline is simplest.
Can I put the phone down whenever I like?
Of course. There's no minimum call length, no notice to give and nothing to cancel afterwards. You're charged only while you're connected, so the moment you hang up, the charges stop. If you'd like to keep an eye on the cost, glance at the call timer on your phone: the rate per minute doesn't change during the call.
Do I need an app?
No app, no download, no account. Covmod works with the phone you already have: a landline or a mobile, as long as it has a keypad for the hostess's code. The website is there to help you choose who to ring; the call itself goes over the ordinary phone network, like any other call you make.
Can I call from outside the UK?
Generally not. Premium-rate 09 numbers only work reliably from UK landlines and mobiles in the UK; from abroad the call usually won't go through. If it does connect while you're roaming, your network may add its own charges on top of the service charge and access charge, so read your roaming terms before dialling.
