Priya, 26, teaches yoga at a studio in Bandra, six classes a week, including a 6am session she still can't quite believe she signed up for. She can quote thirty years of Hindi cinema line by line and will defend Amitabh Bachchan against all comers. Her cooking is too spicy even by Mumbai standards, and when something's on her mind she walks it off, for hours. If your voice sounds tight, her first move is to get you breathing more slowly; an occupational hazard, she says. She answers in English with a Mumbai accent, and speaks French and Hindi too. Mumbai is four and a half hours ahead of London in summer, so she's often up before you've gone to bed. She's funny without trying, and perfectly comfortable with a pause.
